Job summary

METRO Global Solution Center PL in Szczecin is seeking a dedicated Stock Accounting professional to manage daily and monthly stock transactions and interfaces with related systems.

You will perform reconciliations, post adjustments like SVA, and support month-end closings while collaborating with internal stakeholders and auditors. The role offers home-office days and relocation support to Szczecin.

Qualifications

• Accounting experience is required.
• SAP knowledge is advantageous.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills required.
• Knowledge of stock valuation topics is a plus.
• Experience with margin controlling and recon between presystems and accounting system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process daily and monthly Stock Accounting transactions, including stock movements and relevant system interfaces.
• Perform stock reconciliations, margin reconciliations, and other accounting controls to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Calculate and post stock-related adjustments, including Stock Valuation Allowance (SVA), where applicable.
• Support month-end closing activities, reporting, and analysis of accounting data.
• Investigate discrepancies and provide explanations and supporting information to internal and external auditors.
• Contribute to process improvement, standardization, automation, and transition projects.
• Cooperate with internal stakeholders and METRO Group entities to ensure high-quality and timely service delivery.
• Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures and other process documentation.
• Participate in training and knowledge-sharing activities and support an effective backup structure within the team.

Our requirements:

• Accounting experience
• Work experience with SAP will be an advantage.
• Analytical skills and good knowledge of Excel.
• Knowledge of stock valuation topics nice to have.
• Experience with margin controlling and reconciliation between presystems and the accounting system in addition.
• Good organization of own work in changing environment.
• High orientation on goals realization.
• Good command of English (B2).
