Job description

At Nord Security, we’re creating a safer cyber future.

We help people and businesses take back control of their online security, privacy, and data. From VPNs to password managers, threat intelligence to eSIMs for travel—our teams turn complex problems into solutions trusted by millions worldwide.

Life is online. In this role, you’ll help people own it.

We’re building a brand-new Accounting team in Warsaw, and we’re looking for an AP Accountant to help shape it from day one. You’ll own the accounts payable and statutory accounting function for our group entities across multiple jurisdictions, making sure every invoice, expense, payment and reports are accurate, timely, and compliant. Whether you’re a mid-level or senior professional, we’ll match the scope and seniority of the role to your experience.

Main Responsibilities
  • Run the full AP cycle end-to-end for the group entities across different jurisdictions: purchase invoices, employee expenses, per diems and bank postings (including matching payments to vendors).

  • Ensure invoices are correctly received and processed through the KSeF (National e-Invoicing System) for the Polish entity, in line with local e-invoicing requirements.

  • Own the Group entities' expenses – review, classify, and correctly record local costs, ensuring each expense is coded to the right account, product, team, and tax treatment so that it is correct for both accounting and tax purposes.

  • Create and maintain vendor master records.

  • Reconcile payables – clear aging entries, resolve variances, and reconcile vendor statements.

  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing, including accruals for goods and services received but not yet invoiced.

  • Keep expense data complete and audit-ready to support statutory and tax reporting as well as external audits across the relevant entities.

  • Communicate complex accounting information clearly and effectively to both accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Identify process issues, drive improvements, and collaborate across teams with clear, proactive communication.

  • Prioritize independently, keeping both high-impact and ad-hoc work on track.

If you join us at senior level, you'll also:

  • Prepare the Polish entity's local statutory (Polish GAAP) financial statements and own the statutory audit end-to-end – acting as the main point of contact for external auditors, preparing supporting schedules and disclosures, and resolving audit queries. Prior hands-on experience preparing and managing the audit of Polish statutory financial statements is strongly preferred.

  • Step into hands-on AP operations when needed.

  • Own complex reconciliations and AP subledger management, analyzing AP data and discrepancies across the team to surface insights that inform accounting management's decisions.

  • Mentor AP colleagues and support their development.

  • Support finance-system enhancements and Procure-to-Pay automation and bring financial expertise to cross-departmental projects.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (Polish GAAP / IFRS).

Core Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Mid level: 2+ years of accounting or finance experience, with solid, hands-on experience processing and accounting for the expenses of a Polish entity – including correct classification and coding of costs for both accounting and tax purposes.

  • Senior level: 4+ years of relevant experience, including demonstrated experience preparing Polish statutory (local GAAP) financial statements and handling the statutory audit of a Polish entity end-to-end.

  • Solid overall accounting knowledge – Chart of Accounts, Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and accruals.

  • Experience working across multiple entities or jurisdictions is an advantage.

  • Experience with Business Central (formerly Microsoft Dynamics NAV) or Workday is preferred.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills – SUMIF, VLOOKUP, IF, PivotTables, data validation, and conditional formatting; comfortable working in Google Sheets.

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.

  • Self-driven, proactive, and problem-solving oriented, with strong communication skills.

  • Fluency in English; fluency in Polish is required for working with local documentation and authorities.
