Job summary

Karachi Shipyard in Karachi is seeking a Supervisor (Welding) to oversee daily welding and fabrication operations on ship hulls, deck blocks, and structural steelworks. You will interpret fabrication drawings, supervise welders across SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, and ensure WPS compliance.

The role requires a B.Tech or DAE in Mechanical/Metallurgy, with CSWIP 3.1 and NDT Level II preferred. You will enforce safety standards and coordinate NDT examinations as part of shipyard operations.

Qualifications

• B.Tech or DAE (Mechanical / Metallurgy) from a recognized technical institution.
• CSWIP 3.1 and NDT Visual Testing Level II Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• interpreting structural fabrication drawings and weld symbols
• supervising welders across SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW processes
• ensuring compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
• controlling preheating and interpass temperatures
• mitigating welding distortion
