Job summary

ACCA Careers is seeking an experienced tax professional to prepare and review complex U.S. federal, state, and local returns for individuals and entities. The role covers international forms, multi-state compliance, and IRS communications.

You will conduct technical research, estimate tax payments, and ensure consistency with U.S. tax reporting standards, while mentoring juniors during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting/Finance; ACCA/CA preferred.
• 1–3 years of U.S. tax compliance experience in public accounting, US-facing BPO, or corporate tax.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IRC, and bookkeeping principles.
• Proven experience with professional U.S. tax software and cloud accounting platforms.
• Excellent written English for tax memos, client emails, IRS letters; strong spoken English for collaboration.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple filing timelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex U.S. federal, state, and local tax returns for Individuals and Business Entities.
• Prepare relevant international tax forms and disclosures.
• Manage state income/franchise tax returns, multi-state apportionment, and sales & use tax compliance.
• Conduct technical research on complex tax issues.
• Calculate quarterly estimated tax payments and extension requests for clients.
• Draft responses to inquiries and notices from IRS/state tax authorities.
• Collaborate with accounting leads to align book-to-tax adjustments and financial statements.
• Mentor junior tax preparers and boost department accuracy during peak filing seasons.
