Job summary

Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi invites applications for a Trainee Medical Physicist - Radiology. The program provides hands-on training across QA/QC, Radiation Dosimetry, and PET/CT, with supervision and structured sessions to build core imaging physics skills.

Selected trainees will join a comprehensive learning track with rotations in Radiology and related modalities, plus opportunities for teaching, research and patient safety activities.

Qualifications

• BS Physics or equivalent required.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Adequate understanding of computers (e.g. MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Attend didactic sessions and receive hands-on training using QA/QC tools in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT and Radiation Dosimetry systems.
• Assist Medical Physicists with QA/QC related activities in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT; support teaching, research and radiation protection.
• Rotate through modalities in Radiology and related areas to learn QA/QC activities and observe clinical procedures to understand practice.
• Perform routine Radiology procedures under QA/QC supervision and maintain proper procedure logs.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to

• You will have the opportunity to attend didactic sessions and get hands on training by using QA/QC tool in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT and Radiation Dosimetry system.
• Assisting Medical Physicist in
  • QA and QC related activities in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT.
  • Teaching, Research and Radiation protection related activities.
• Rotation in modalities in Radiology and outside as per schedule to learn and support QA/QC related activities.
• Observing clinical procedures in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine to familiarize him/herself with the clinical practice.
• Performing routine pertinent Radiology procedures under QA/QC supervision and record proper log of procedures performed.

Selected trainees will be given monthly stipend.

Requirements:

You should have:

• B S Physics or equivalent.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
• Adequate understanding of computers e.g. MS office.
• Full-time employment may be offered on successful completion of the traineeship programme upon the availability of the vacant position.
• The shortlisted candidates will be required to clear the aptitude test and the interview.
