Job summary

The British American Tobacco Group in Jhelum, Pakistan invites applications for a Team Lead - SMD. The role focuses on scheduling shift operations to hit production targets, ensuring product quality, and driving maintenance and process improvements.

You will mentor shift teams, enforce safety and quality standards, and collaborate with stakeholders to sustain reliable manufacturing performance. A degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering and 1–2 years in operations are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering.
• 1-2 years of experience in Operations Management.
• Proven initiative, drive, and leadership abilities to lead a team.
• Effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Working experience with SAP is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and control shift operations to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Ensure high-quality products by meeting MQI and FQI targets and improving processes.
• Manage maintenance to keep machines functioning and reduce downtime.
• Drive improvements in Process Reliability and downtime while delivering the Master Production Schedule.
• Mentor and develop EOs and promote multiskilling on shift.
• Maintain positive relations with CBA representatives for smooth floor operations.
• Ensure compliance with EH&S policies on the shop floor for safety.
• Encourage ideas for continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Pakistan Tobacco Company has an exciting opportunity for a Team Lead - SMD in Jhelum, Pakistan

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Schedule and control shift operations effectively to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Ensure the manufacturing of high-quality products by meeting/exceeding MQI and FQI targets, improving processes to reduce/eliminate market complaints, and protecting product integrity.
• Manage and aid in all maintenance efforts to keep machines functioning efficiently and decrease periods of inactivity.
• Drive breakthrough results in Process Reliability, Planned and Unplanned Downtime while delivering against the Master Production Schedule.
• Mentor and develop EOs and encourage multiskilling in shift.
• Maintain positive connections with CBA representatives to ensure smooth operations on the floor.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with Company EH&S policies on the shop floor to provide a safe and healthy work environment.
• Encourage shop floor employees to come up with new and different ideas for work to ensure continuous improvement processes.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering
• 1-2 years of experience in Operations Management.

• Proven initiative, drive, and leadership abilities to lead a team with decision-making and resource management skills.
• Effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Outstanding leadership and conflict management skills.
• Working experience with SAP is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of Quality systems, ISO 9001/14001, and SPC.
• Ability to enforce rigor and set outstanding work practices within the team.
• Good knowledge of the ANT System.
