Job summary

Riaz Ahmad, Saqib, Gohar & Co. (RASG) invites applications for a Junior Tax Associate to join our Taxation Department in Pakistan. The role involves assisting the tax team with compliance, research, drafting, documentation and other tax-related assignments.

You will prepare and file income tax and other statutory returns, compile schedules, perform basic tax research, and support senior team members in audits and notices while maintaining accurate records and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Basic working knowledge of Pakistan taxation, including Income Tax and Sales Tax.
• Basic understanding of tax compliance, documentation and statutory deadlines.
• Ability to assist in tax drafting, correspondence and preparation of tax-related documents.
• Good Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills.
• Good analytical, numerical and research skills with attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and work effectively in a professional team environment.
• Commitment to confidentiality, professional ethics and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and filing of Income Tax, Sales Tax and other statutory returns.
• Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations and working papers.
• Conduct basic research on tax laws, regulations and relevant notifications.
• Assist in preparation of tax notices, replies, applications and other tax-related correspondence.
• Assist senior team members in tax audits, assessments and other assignments.
• Coordinate with clients to obtain required information and documentation.
• Maintain proper records and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
