Job summary

TechSurge Inc seeks a QA engineer to drive testing strategy within an agile squad, with emphasis on automation, end-to-end testing, and cross-functional collaboration with designers, SMEs and Product Owner. You will join an environment that values quality and proactive testing across multiple squads.

You will own testing during release cycles, ensure acceptance criteria are testable, and contribute to continuous improvement of processes, tooling and test coverage to mitigate production risk.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Quality Assurance and/or as a Software Developer.
• Proficient in Java, Python or JavaScript, with willingness to learn.
• Strong SQL knowledge.
• Experience with test automation across Unit/Integration/End-to-End testing.
• Able to communicate with developers in the same language.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, TestNG/JUnit, Appium, Espresso, Postman, Rest Assured, and JMeter.
• Familiar with banking processes; DevOps culture and tools is a plus.
• Understanding of CI/CD and build/source control (Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with API/Web service testing, mobile testing, TDD/BDD, SIT, regression, performance, GUI, browser compatibility testing.
• Knowledge of end-to-end system landscape and monitoring tools (Splunk).

Responsibilities

• Drive the squad's test strategy and test efforts, including automation where possible.
• Perform end-to-end automated tests in relation to larger releases with external stakeholders.
• Own the process during test periods where functionality is tested across several squads and departments.
• Be an active participant in grooming and planning to ensure acceptance criteria are testable.
• Collaborate with designers, SMEs and Product Owner during user story development to test angle.
• Work in an agile/scrum environment, meet sprint commitments and contribute to the agile process.
• Maintain traceability of testing activities; estimate effort for testing tasks.
• Define test approach for each sprint; extract test requirements for user stories.
• Design and create test cases; write and execute tests manually and automatically.
• Manual front-end functional testing including system, integration, regression, end-to-end and exploratory testing.
• Collaborate with developers to log, prioritize and verify defects.
• Manage test environments and test data; provide first-line support and root cause analysis.
• Define best practices for testing in agile; drive quality improvement and risk mitigation.
• Maintain and extend regression test suites (manual/automated); perform exploratory testing; sign-off releases.
