We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Senior QA Engineer to ensure the delivery of high-quality, bug-free mobile games. This role involves owning the QA lifecycle—from test planning to release validation—while collaborating closely with game designers, developers, and product teams.
You will play a key role in improving game quality, player experience, and release stability across multiple titles.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test Planning & Execution
- Design and execute comprehensive test strategies for mobile games (functional, regression, smoke, exploratory).
- Create detailed test cases, test plans, and test scenarios.
- Perform manual testing across Android and iOS devices.
- Validate game features, mechanics, UI/UX, and performance.
2. Bug Tracking & Quality Ownership
- Identify, log, and track bugs using tools like JIRA, ClickUp, or TestRail.
- Perform root cause analysis and ensure timely bug resolution.
- Prioritize issues based on severity, impact, and player experience.
- Act as a quality gatekeeper before releases.
3. Automation & Tools (Preferred)
- Contribute to or maintain automation frameworks for regression testing.
- Work with tools like Appium, Selenium, or Unity Test Framework.
- Improve QA efficiency through automation and tooling.
4. Performance & Compatibility Testing
- Test game performance across different devices, OS versions, and network conditions.
- Identify memory leaks, crashes, and FPS drops.
- Ensure smooth gameplay on low to mid-tier devices (critical for emerging markets).
5. Live Ops & Release Support
- Support live game releases, updates, and events.
- Perform post-release validation and monitor live issues.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to identify quality gaps from player data.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Game Designers, Developers, and Product Managers.
- Provide feedback on gameplay, usability, and player experience.
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Requirements
Experience
- 3–5 years of QA experience, preferably in mobile gaming.
- Hands-on experience testing live games or apps with frequent releases.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- Mobile testing (Android & iOS)
- Game testing methodologies
- Bug tracking tools (JIRA, etc.)
- Experience with Unity-based games is a strong plus.
Core Competencies
