Smart Working is seeking a Senior ML Engineer to build and modernise an AI platform for full-time, remote work. The role blends Applied AI, MLOps, and backend engineering with productionisation, deployment, evaluation and operation of ML/AI systems.

You will design and implement ML capabilities, modernise NLP and generative AI systems, and create observable infrastructure to simplify model integration, evaluation and deployment across global teams.

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years of professional AI/ML experience with production work.
• 5+ years of professional MLOps experience.
• 2+ years of Applied AI experience beyond experimentation.
• Strong Python experience.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven productionising AI applications and models.
• Experience with generative AI/LLMs and evaluation (grounding/hallucination).
• Experience building ML pipelines and production architectures.
• Backend engineering to integrate ML components.

Aufgaben

• Refactor and productionise existing ML models and AI capabilities.
• Build modular production-ready ML components.
• Develop production ML apps using Python.
• Maintain ML pipelines for integration, evaluation, deployment, and operation.
• Design robust ML workflows with retry logic and error handling.
• Automate model evaluation with golden datasets and quality thresholds.
• Evaluate models including generative AI and classifications.
• Implement guardrails for grounding and hallucination.
• Apply RAG techniques where appropriate.
• Design provenance for models, prompts, data.
• Support shadow testing, A/B testing, fallbacks, kill switches.
• Assist labeling and curation of golden datasets.
• Build human-in-the-loop feedback for ML datasets.
• Integrate external AI APIs and adapters.
• Implement observability for model behavior and costs.
• Contribute backend APIs to ML components.
• Support batch and real-time ML workloads.
