Job summary

Systems Limited seeks a highly experienced Linux Engineer to design and standardize enterprise Linux platforms, automate build processes, and drive reusable capabilities for OpenShift, VMware, and cloud environments.

You will own automation using Ansible, Bash, and Python, develop golden images, and lead 24x7 on-call incident response while collaborating with DevOps, Security, and Enterprise Architecture teams to raise platform standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 12+ years in Enterprise Linux with 5+ years in Senior Linux Admin and 5 years in Linux Engineering.
• Strong hands-on with RHEL 6 and newer.
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite Server and automated provisioning.
• Proficiency with OpenShift and Kubernetes in cloud environments.
• Automation expertise with Ansible, Bash, Python, Packer; CI/CD/DevOps.
• Security hardening, configuration management, and governance.
• RHCE certification is required; RHCA a plus.
• AWS/Azure certifications are advantageous.

• Develop monitoring and observability solutions for Linux OS and Dell/HPE server infrastructure, integrating with Splunk, ELK, SIEM, and AppDynamics.
• Automate patching, firmware updates, configuration management, monitoring, and compliance using Ansible, Bash, and Python.
• Develop AI-driven solutions to improve Linux engineering and BAU operations.
• Support Linux platforms across OpenShift, VMware, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
• Act as a Level 3 escalation point for critical incidents and lead root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, DevOps, Security, Enterprise Architecture, and BAU teams to establish future-state Linux standards.
• Work with technology vendors and service partners to drive platform improvements and roadmap initiatives.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for critical incidents.

This is a hands-on engineering role, focused on building reusable solutions and capabilities for Linux Operations and Infrastructure teams rather than performing day-to-day system administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience in Enterprise Linux, including at least 5 years in Senior Linux Administration and 5 years in Linux Engineering.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with RHEL 6 onwards.
• Extensive experience with Red Hat Satellite Server, preferably Kickstart.
• Strong knowledge of PXE, DHCP, Redfish, and automated OS provisioning.
• Hands‑on experience creating standardized OS/container images across on‑premises, VMware, OpenShift, and cloud environments.
• Strong expertise in Red Hat OpenShift and experience with Kubernetes in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Ansible, Bash, Python, Packer, and CI/CD/DevOps technologies.
• Strong understanding of DNS, NFS, NTP, SNMP, SMTP, Active Directory, TCP/IP, and Ethernet.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting, kernel analysis, performance tuning, and optimization skills.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring, logging, and SIEM solutions.
• Strong understanding of Linux security hardening and configuration management.
• RHCE certification required; RHCA is a plus.
• AWS/Azure certifications are advantageous.
