Smart Working is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Developer to maintain and evolve a live Studio product. You will focus on backend APIs and cloud-native improvements, with partial frontend contributions.

The role emphasizes Node.js/NestJS, Angular, Docker, and Google Cloud Platform in a remote-first setting. The candidate should bring 8+ years of software development, experience building scalable web apps, and proven API design skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Node.js and/or NestJS experience
• 3+ years of Angular
• 1.5+ years of React
• 4+ years designing and developing REST APIs
• 3+ years Docker experience
• 2+ years DevOps in live production environments (CI/CD, deployments)
• 2+ years managing production workloads on GCP
• Experience with GCP services (GKE, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Experience with Swagger/OpenAPI documentation
• Experience in microservices architectures
• Ability to design APIs independently
• Ability to work autonomously within a team
• 1+ year AI-assisted development tools experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance a live, customer-facing production platform
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js/NestJS
• Contribute to Angular-based frontend development where required
• Build and improve REST APIs and maintain API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI
• Support production systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ensuring reliability
• Manage production deployments through CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Troubleshoot production incidents and implement resolutions
• Work with Docker-based containerised applications and cloud-hosted services
• Follow established development, staging, and production release processes
• Collaborate through code reviews and engineering standards
• Independently design, document, and deliver technical solutions
• Use AI-assisted development tools as part of engineering workflow
