Job summary

Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. is seeking an Associate Data Engineer to join the Data Solutions team. You will build and support data warehouses, maintain dashboards, and ensure data integrity across holiday calendars, GL accounting, holdings, and transactions within the investment domain.

The role requires hands-on Azure data engineering, dbt transformations, SQL proficiency, and collaboration with US teams. Hybrid work, with overlap for PST morning hours, is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling, fact/dimension tables, and reporting data marts.
• Experience monitoring and troubleshooting jobs/pipelines on Azure (Azure Data Factory, Functions, Logic, DBT, triggers).
• Practical experience with dbt for data transformations, testing, and validation.
• Strong MS SQL Server skills with complex SQL and stored procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop data warehouse solutions, including dimensional models and data marts.
• Monitor Azure jobs and pipelines, identify failures and drive resolution.
• Perform issue/fix across data pipelines and platform apps with root-cause analysis.
• Build and maintain data transformations using dbt for accuracy and reliability.
• Develop data pipelines with Azure Data Factory and internal ETL/ELT tools.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Maintain GitHub repository, PRs, code reviews, and hygiene.
• Collaborate with US-based teams and stakeholders; update Jira tickets.
