Job summary

Funavry Technologies in Islamabad, Pakistan, is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and operate cloud data pipelines and lakehouse components using Azure Fabric, Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks. You will implement medallion architecture and build Gold layer models with strong governance and cost optimization.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in data engineering, 4+ on cloud platforms, expertise in SQL and Python/PySpark, and hands-on experience with Purview for data governance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse or Databricks.
• Expert SQL and strong Python / PySpark skills.
• Proven lakehouse and medallion implementations with Delta Lake.
• Solid data warehousing and dimensional modeling (star schema, SCDs).
• Experience integrating complex enterprise sources (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce).

Responsibilities

• Build batch, incremental and CDC ingestion from ERP, operational, CRM and finance systems.
• Develop ETL/ELT with Fabric Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Azure Data Factory and Spark notebooks.
• Implement the medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) on OneLake / ADLS Gen2 with Delta Lake.
• Build Gold layer dimensional and semantic models with the governance and modeling lead.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, alerting, and performance and cost optimization.
• Apply CI/CD (Azure DevOps or GitHub), Git and infrastructure as code.
• Register lineage and classifications in Purview; document pipelines and data contracts.

Designs, builds and operates cloud data pipelines and lakehouse components, consolidating operational and enterprise systems into a governed platform for analytics, reporting and AI. The client platform is based on Microsoft Azure and Fabric, with Microsoft Purview for governance.

• Solid data warehousing and dimensional modeling (star schema, SCDs)
• Experience integrating complex enterprise sources (for example SAP, Oracle, Salesforce)

Nice to have

• DP-700 (Fabric Data Engineer), DP-203 or Databricks certification
• Streaming (Kafka, Event Hubs), dbt or Airflow, Power BI semantic models
• Logistics or supply chain experience; Arabic is a plus
