Job summary

ACCA Careers in Lahore, Pakistan, is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage UK client portfolios, review work, and mentor junior staff. The role requires ACCA qualification (or finalist) with 2–4 years in practice and strong knowledge of UK accounting and tax rules.

You will handle year-end accounts, VAT, CT600s, and self-assessment tax returns, while ensuring compliance and timely delivery. A supportive environment with clear progression is offered.

Qualifications

• ACCA qualification or finalist, or equivalent such as ACA/CIMA.
• 2–4 years of relevant practice experience.
• Strong UK accounting and tax knowledge.
• Experience in year-end accounts and tax returns.
• Proficient in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar.
• Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple client portfolios.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of UK-based clients across sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Reviewing bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts prepared by junior staff.
• Preparing and finalising year-end accounts in line with UK standards (FRS 102 / FRS 105).
• Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and CT600 filings.
• Preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns.
• Overseeing VAT compliance including MTDS (Making Tax Digital) submissions.
• Assisting with payroll review and pension compliance.
• Liaising with HMRC on client queries and correspondence.
• Supporting and mentoring junior accountants and assistants.
• Assisting with process improvements and workflow efficiencies within the team.
• Learning the basics of corporation tax and self-assessment returns.
