Accountree is seeking a Senior Accountant/Lead to join our established UK accounting practice. The role entails owning the accounts function, supervising the team, and ensuring timely, accurate submissions to clients and authorities.

The ideal candidate brings strong UK GAAP/VAT/Corporation Tax knowledge, at least eight years of experience, and proven ability to review and finalise accounts. ACA/ACCA qualification is preferred, with excellent organisational and client-management skills.

• Strong UK accounting practice experience.
• Experience of minimum 8 years.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, VAT, Corporation Tax and statutory accounts.
• Experience reviewing and finalising accounts prepared by others.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Confident communication and client-management skills.
• ACA/ACCA qualified preferred.

Mansioni

• Take overall responsibility for the accounts workflow and delivery across the team.
• Review, finalise and approve accounts before submission to clients and relevant authorities.
• Allocate work effectively among team members based on workload, deadlines and individual capabilities.
• Monitor team progress and ensure jobs are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare and review accounts and working papers prepared by team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure a consistent standard of work and maintain strong quality-control procedures.
• Deal with more complex accounting and client queries and provide guidance to the team.
• Monitor outstanding work and proactively follow up with team members to prevent delays.
• Ensure all statutory and client deadlines are tracked and met.
• Prepare and maintain monthly internal management reports on workflow, deadlines, outstanding jobs and team performance.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve processes to make the accounts function more efficient.
• Work closely with managers/directors and provide regular updates on workload, progress and issues.
• Assist with training, mentoring and development of junior and senior team members.
• Maintain strong client relationships and communicate professionally with clients when required.
• Ensure the team follows internal procedures, accounting standards and UK compliance requirements.
