Our Client is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join a large-scale SAP programme, with a focus on SAP HANA and modern ABAP development practices.

This remote-friendly freelance role is based in Pakistan, preference for candidates in Islamabad or Karachi, and starts August 2026, collaborating with functional consultants, architects, and technical teams to deliver high-performance SAP solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven ABAP development experience in SAP HANA environments.
• Experience with CDS Views and Native SQL/ADBC.
• Experience on large SAP implementation or transformation programmes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support SAP ABAP applications in SAP HANA environments.
• Develop reusable, scalable components and enhancements.
• Create reports, interfaces, forms, and custom developments.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with functional teams.
• Support testing, deployments, and post-go-live activities.
• Ensure code aligns with SAP development standards and clean code.

The Opportunity

We are currently supporting a global organisation that is looking to engage an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join a large-scale SAP programme.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a complex SAP environment, designing, developing, and supporting high-quality SAP applications with a strong focus on SAP HANA technologies and modern ABAP development practices.

You'll work alongside functional consultants, architects, and technical teams to deliver scalable, high-performance SAP solutions across enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support SAP ABAP applications within SAP HANA environments
• Develop high-quality, reusable, and scalable application components
• Build enhancements, reports, interfaces, forms, and custom developments
• Develop solutions using modern ABAP on HANA development techniques
• Optimise code performance in line with SAP HANA best practices
• Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Support testing, defect resolution, deployments, and post-go-live activities
• Ensure developments align with SAP development standards and clean code principles

Required Experience

• Strong SAP ABAP development experience
• Experience developing within SAP HANA environments
• Good understanding of SAP HANA Technical Architecture
• Experience using ABAP Development Tools (ADT)
• Knowledge of ABAP Core Data Services (CDS Views)
• Experience with Native SQL, ADBC, and Database Procedures
• Understanding of SAP HANA data modelling concepts
• Experience optimising ABAP code performance for SAP HANA
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working on large SAP implementation or transformation programmes
