Job summary

World Food Programme in Islamabad, Pakistan seeks a Risk Officer to strengthen risk management, assurance and governance across the Country Office and provincial offices. The role focuses on embedding risk-informed decision making and maintaining the CO risk Register and related tracking tools.

The position supports audits, anti-fraud initiatives and the implementation of governance frameworks, reporting to the Head of Risk Management and collaborating with CO units and partners.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years in risk management, governance or audit.
• Experience in humanitarian/development context preferred.

Responsibilities

• Embed risk management into planning and decision making across CO and POs.
• Conduct risk and control assessments, develop mitigation measures and monitor implementation.
• Prepare risk and assurance reports and inputs for Executive Director’s Assurance Exercise.
• Support internal/external audits, evaluations and follow‑up of recommendations.
• Maintain CO oversight and management action tracking mechanisms and evidencing closure.
• Coordinate governance tools, SOPs and documentation to support accountability.
