Receptionist (Inpatient), Service Line - Children's Hospital

Location

Introduction: The Service Line - Children’s Hospital is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical services to children. It imparts high quality undergraduate and postgraduate training as well. It consists of a group of dedicated full-time and part-time faculty. Besides the outpatient clinics, the inpatient set-up consists of 122 beds, including 24 beds NICU, 8 beds PICU, 4 beds CICU, 16 beds SCU and sub-specialty areas for Paediatric Neurology, Cardiology, Surgery etc. along with round the clock fully trained paediatric medical and nursing staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and other customers in a polite, prompt, helpful manner and provide required support.
  • Ensure timely communication as per the requirements using the technology currently in use.
  • Place meal orders for patients as per the physicians’ orders.
  • Coordinate with the Bed Management and Admission departments regarding referral/transfer arrangements of patients as per the requirements.
  • Manage receipt of payments through cash, debit/credit cards and cheques.
  • Maintain data and keep records of all necessary documents as per institutional guidelines.
  • Provide administrative support to the unit, including maintaining the tidiness and cleanliness of the entire unit.
  • Ensure availability of all necessary forms and other stationary in the unit.
  • Provide assistance to the supervisor in the quality audits and keeping ward manuals and records updated.
  • Act as a unit coordinator whenever assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • At least one year of experience, preferably of handling front desk or looking after customer services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be customer-oriented.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in teams as well as independently in a fast-paced, professional environment.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving, creative, and critical thinking skills.
  • Willingness to work in COVID wards and critical patient care areas.
  • Willingness to work in all shifts, including mornings, evenings, and nights.
