Job summary

KATco is seeking a QA Engineer for a full-time role to join our testing team in Pakistan. You will review requirements, design documents, and develop comprehensive test plans and cases to ensure product quality.

You will coordinate testing activities, identify and track defects, and perform regression testing after fixes. The role requires collaboration with developers and product managers and staying current with testing tools.

Qualifications

• BS or equivalent degree in computer science.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Solid knowledge of data structures.
• Familiarity with design patterns and large-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide feedback.

About the Role

Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
Monitor debugging process results
Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

Requirements

Must have a BS or equivalent degree in computer science

Good problem-solving ability.

Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming.

Must have a good grip on Data Structures.

Understanding of Application Design Patterns.

Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals.
