Job summary

FORTEK Pvt. Ltd. in Islamabad is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to ensure the workplace complies with health, safety, quality and environmental regulations, standards and policies. You will identify hazards, assess risks and promote a safety culture on projects.

The role reports to QEHS / Quality Control & EHS department; requires 2–4 years of relevant experience and qualifications in OH&S with NEBOSH IGC or IOSH Managing Safely, plus knowledge of ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in OH&S, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• NEBOSH IGC / IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Project Manager/Site Supervisor regarding day to day work and ensure Tool Box Talk before execution of work.
• Ensure availability of SOW and Safe System of Work (SSoW) are available and being followed.
• Identify emergencies and implement appropriate emergency response plans as per relevant regulations.
• Ensure all employees and interested parties are aware of emergencies and response plans.
• Conduct drills and ensure readiness of safety equipment (firefighting, PPE, alarms, etc.).
• Deliver site induction to employees, subcontractors and visitors and ensure safety of all interested parties.
