Job summary

Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) seeks a highly experienced civil engineer with 15+ years in major civil and mechanical works. The ideal candidate will master FIDIC contracts, MDB-funded projects, and have strong planning, design, bidding, and construction supervision capabilities.

Registration with a recognized engineering body is required, with preference for candidates holding advanced degrees or postgraduate certificates in project/construction management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an HEC-recognized university; Master’s in Civil/Water & Wastewater Engineering or related field; postgraduate certificate/diploma in project/construction management preferred.
• Minimum 15 years experience on major civil and mechanical works; strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and MDB-funded projects.
• Experience in planning, design, preparation of specifications and bidding packages, construction supervision and contract/project management.
• Good knowledge of World Bank safeguards policies, procurement guidelines and regulations, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and GIS.
• Membership/registration with a recognized professional engineering body is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and prepare bidding packages for major civil and mechanical works.
• Supervise construction activities and manage contracts throughout project life cycles.
• Ensure compliance with World Bank safeguards, procurement guidelines and M&E requirements.
• Apply GIS tools and analysis in project design and monitoring.

Job Summary

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in Civil Engineering plus a Master’s degree in Civil/Water & Water & Wastewater Engineering/Sanitary Engineering/Hydraulic/Construction Management or equivalent from the Higher Education Commission recognized university is required. The postgraduate certificate or diploma in project/construction management shall be preferable.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience on major civil and mechanical works projects; strong knowledge and experience with FIDIC contracts and MDB-funded projects is required.
• The candidate should have strong technical and engineering skills and experience including planning, design, preparation of specifications and bidding packages, construction supervision and contract/project management.
• The candidate should have a good appreciation and knowledge of World Bank safeguards policies and practices, procurement guidelines and regulations, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and GIS.

Membership and/or registration with a recognized professional engineering body is a requirement.
