Job summary

ValueMomentum, Inc. is actively seeking an experienced Data Technical Project Manager to lead end-to-end data initiatives, coordinating Databricks engineers and data professionals, and ensuring governance and successful delivery across teams.

You will manage Azure DevOps boards, define scope, milestones, and dependencies, and drive Scrum ceremonies while collaborating with product owners and stakeholders to achieve timely, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12–15 years of experience in project management within P&C Insurance.
• Strong experience in data project handling and end-to-end delivery.
• Deep knowledge of Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data Modelling, and Databricks.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and ceremonies.
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional data teams.
• Experience using Azure DevOps boards for project tracking.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end data projects from planning to closure.
• Run and facilitate daily Scrum calls, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
• Coordinate Databricks Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Modelers and other data professionals.
• Maintain and manage Azure DevOps boards with up-to-date work items, stories, tasks, priorities and dependencies.
• Define scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables with technical teams.
• Drive Agile delivery ensuring on-time completion within scope and quality.
• Provide technical direction on data engineering, architecture, modelling, and Databricks solutions.
• Track progress, risks, issues and blockers, driving them to closure.
• Coordinate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Engineers and stakeholders for alignment.
• Monitor sprint commitments, capacity, velocity and delivery metrics.
• Communicate status, risks and decisions to leadership.
• Support teams in resolving challenges and enable cross-workstream collaboration.
• Enforce governance, processes, documentation and quality standards.

About the job:

We are looking for an experienced Data Technical Project Manager with strong expertise in Data Engineering, Databricks, Agile/Scrum, and end-to-end project delivery. The candidate will be responsible for managing data projects, coordinating cross-functional technical teams, maintaining project governance, and ensuring successful delivery of data initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage end-to-end data projects from planning and execution through delivery and closure.
• Run and facilitate daily Scrum calls, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Guide and coordinate teams comprising Databricks Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Modelers, and other data professionals.
• Maintain and manage Azure DevOps (ADO) boards, ensuring work items, user stories, tasks, sprint assignments, priorities, status, and dependencies are updated accurately.
• Define project scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables with technical teams.
• Drive project execution using Agile/Scrum methodologies and ensure timely delivery within agreed scope and quality standards.
• Provide technical direction and facilitate discussions around data engineering, data architecture, data modelling, and Databricks solutions.
• Track project progress, identify risks, issues, dependencies, and blockers, and drive them to closure.
• Coordinate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Monitor sprint commitments, team capacity, velocity, and delivery metrics.
• Ensure timely updates to project plans, sprint backlogs, action items, risks, and dependencies.
• Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and key decisions to stakeholders and leadership.
• Support teams in resolving technical and functional challenges and facilitate collaboration across workstreams.
• Ensure adherence to project governance, delivery processes, documentation, and quality standards.
• Manage multiple priorities and workstreams while maintaining focus on project timelines and business outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery processes, Agile practices, and team performance.

Requirements:

• 12–15 years of experience in project management, with relevant experience in the P&C Insurance industry.
• Strong experience in data project handling and end-to-end project delivery.
• Strong understanding of Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data Modelling, and Databricks.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Scrum ceremonies.
• Experience managing and coordinating cross-functional data teams.
• Experience with Azure DevOps boards and project tracking.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Strong understanding of insurance processes, regulations, and market trends.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field.
• PMP, PgMP, or Scrum Master certification preferred.

Good To Have:

• Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or Rally.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and workstreams.
