The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of project management experience and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Position Overview

The ideal candidate possesses intellectual curiosity, creativity, strong problem‑solving skills, excellent communication skills, and an ability to influence business and technical leaders in a dynamic environment as well as a strong desire to contribute to Zones’ continued success.

This person will lead investigations into undefined areas, ambiguous requirements and will define scope, requirements and measurable deliverables that can be executed on using PMO principles. They create scope and execute initiatives by partnering with senior stakeholders (Partner and Product Management, Purchasing, Operations, IT, Finance, Sales) to understand and prioritize initiatives to improve organization performance. Improvement may constitute increased speed, enhanced efficiency, lower cost, higher revenue or a combination of all.

What you’ll do as the Project Manager 2

Responsibilities

• Formulate strategy, plans and measurable objectives for programs and projects.
• Demonstrate improvement of Key Process Indicators (KPIs) versus baseline measurements developed as part of each project effort.
• Ensure timely completion of project initiatives and drive demonstrable improvement of KPIs.
• Successfully manage project scope, budget and schedule to ensure timely completion of program and project initiatives.
• Ensure that 100% of all tasks are resolved within appropriate time constraints through proper task management.
• Provide weekly status reports depicting:
  • Service engagements
  • Resource Utilization
  • Project Status
  • Risks
  • Issue Mitigation
  • Portfolio Status
• Effective project communications with multiple stakeholders, teams and executive management.

What you will bring to the team

Education / Certification

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• PMP, ITIL or equivalent certification preferred.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience in program / project management, process engineering or strategy within a technology or operations environment.
• Leadership skills: experience leading a portfolio of programs, multiple projects and teams.
• Ability to take ambiguous requirements, conduct investigation and develop strategy.
• Problem‑solving skills: identify risks and develop actionable mitigation plans.
• Analytical skills: highly analytical with experience using objective data to drive strategic recommendations.
• Communication skills: concisely explain complex issues, communicate well in writing and verbally, and build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas.
• Intellectual curiosity: desire to understand why/how things work, not just complete the task at hand.
• Knowledge of and experience using Project Management Software.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
