The Professional Services Managerleads the company's professional services function, owning the scoping,architecture, delivery, and commercial success of customer implementations,integrations, and consulting engagements. Drawing on a strong solutionarchitecture background, the role acts as the senior technical and deliveryauthority for enterprise and public-sector clients: translating customerrequirements into sound, deliverable solutions, building and leading theservices team, and making sure every engagement is delivered on time, withinbudget, to agreed quality, and at healthy margins. The Professional ServicesManager works closely with sales, BD, product, and engineering to convertopportunities into successful deployments, drive customer adoption, and growrepeat and services revenue.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
1. Professional Services Strategy& Leadership
- Defineand execute the professional services strategy, service catalogue, anddelivery methodology in line with company goals and product roadmap.
- Ownthe professional services P&L, including services revenue, margins,utilization, and forecasting.
- Developstandardized, repeatable service offerings (implementation packages,integration services, managed services, training, and advisory) to scaledelivery.
- Actas the voice of the customer and delivery team to product and engineering,feeding field insights into the product roadmap.
2. Solution Architecture &Technical Design Authority
- Serveas the lead solution architect on key engagements, with overallaccountability for the architectural design and delivery of large-scaleenterprise and public-sector projects.
- Translatecustomer business requirements into end-to-end technical solutionscovering cloud deployment, system integration, APIs, data migration, andsecurity.
- Createand approve high-level designs (HLDs), low-level designs (LLDs), solutionblueprints, and integration architectures, and make sure deliveredsolutions conform to them.
- Establishreference architectures, design standards, and technical review processesfor the services team.
- Consultwith technology partners, OEMs, and suppliers on current and futurein-scope technologies and services.
3. Engagement Delivery & ProjectGovernance
- Overseethe end-to-end delivery of customer engagements, from kickoff anddiscovery through design, build, testing, go-live, and handover tosupport.
- Establishdelivery governance, including project plans, milestone tracking, risk andissue management, change control, and status reporting.
- Managea portfolio of concurrent projects, keeping scope, quality, timelines, andbudgets on track.
- Leadescalation management and recovery of at-risk projects.
- Ensurethorough integration and user acceptance testing so that deliveredsolutions work correctly within the agreed design.
- Partnerwith sales, BD, and bid teams on RFP/tender responses, technical andfinancial proposals, and solution demonstrations.
- Scopeengagements accurately and prepare Statements of Work (SOW), effortestimates, resource plans, costing, and pricing for professional services.
- Reviewproposals and tender write-ups so that solutions are technically sound,deliverable, and meet all requirements.
- Identifyupsell and cross-sell opportunities for additional services, changerequests, and support contracts across the customer base.
5. Team & Resource Management
- Lead,hire, and mentor a team of solution architects, implementationconsultants, project managers, and integration engineers.
- Manageresource planning, allocation, and capacity to balance utilization targetsagainst delivery quality.
- Definecareer paths, skills matrices, and certification plans to build teamcapability.
- Manageand coordinate subcontractors and implementation partners where required.
6. Customer Success &Stakeholder Management
- Actas the senior point of contact and trusted advisor for key clientsthroughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Runsteering committee meetings, account reviews, and executive-level progressreporting.
- Drivecustomer satisfaction, adoption, and value realization, tracking CSAT andpost-implementation outcomes.
- Ensuresmooth transition from delivery to support and customer success teams.
7. Compliance, Quality &Knowledge Management
- Ensuredelivered solutions meet contractual requirements, security standards,data residency regulations, and compliance frameworks (e.g. GDPR, ISO27001, and applicable local regulations).
- Actas the delivery and technical lead during audits, acceptance testing, andevaluation phases of public-sector projects.
- Buildand maintain reusable delivery assets, including templates, playbooks,reference architectures, lessons-learned repositories, and compliancedocumentation.
Key Performance Indicators
- Servicesrevenue, gross margin, and billable utilization against target.
- On-time,on-budget delivery of engagements.
- Customersatisfaction (CSAT/NPS) and project acceptance sign-offs.
- Accuracyof estimates and SOWs (variance between scoped and actual effort).
- Provenexperience as a Solution Architect designing enterprise and cloudsolutions, system integrations, APIs, and SaaS platforms.
- Demonstratedtrack record of managing professional services, implementation, orconsulting delivery for enterprise and public-sector clients.
- Strongproject and portfolio management skills, including planning, riskmanagement, change control, and budget tracking.
- Abilityto scope engagements, write SOWs, and prepare effort estimates, solutioncosting, and pricing, with a working understanding of services P&L andmargin management.
- Experiencein presales, RFP/tender responses, and public-sector bids.
- Leadershipexperience building and managing teams of architects, consultants, andengineers.
- Excellentclient-facing, presentation, documentation, and stakeholder communicationskills, including at executive level.
- Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to workindependently and in teams.
