Job summary

leading-edge is seeking a Product Design & Manufacturing Engineer with 4-5 years of experience to bridge design, engineering and production, ensuring products meet functional, aesthetic, quality and cost targets. You will manage design, development and assembly to deliver compelling products to market.

You will prepare drawings, BOMs, prototypes, and oversee manufacturing processes, aiming for efficient market delivery while adhering to defense standards and quality benchmarks.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of experience in product design and assembly.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong coordination, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate technical drawings and BOMs aligned with design specifications, manufacturing feasibility, and quality standards.
• Develop, assemble, and validate prototypes according to approved designs, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with defense standards.
• Enhance product designs through functional improvements, material research, and sustainable design practices.
• Research and propose innovative concepts for new product development and portfolio expansion. Minimum of 3 new product concepts or enhancements annually.
• Oversee manufacturing and assembly processes to ensure alignment with design intent, quality benchmarks, and cost efficiency.
• Identify and implement process and technology improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency, precision, and product finishing quality.
• Conduct quality inspections on prototypes and production output to ensure consistent compliance with quality and defense requirements.
• Coordinate effectively between design, production, and quality teams to ensure smooth execution across all project stages.
• Monitor, support, and train the production workforce on design and manufacturing protocols to improve efficiency and skill development.
