Job summary

Responsibilities

• Monitor stock levels and manage inventory with timely adjustments.

• Provide training and technical support to staff; ensure high-alert med labeling and safety info.
• Present topics for CMEs and keep management informed with interventions and KPI updates.

• Coordinate with Pharmacists to ensure proper handover protocols are followed, and provide daily reports to Assistant Manager/ Manager Pharmacy Services.
• Supervise the unit-dose drug dispensation and distribution, ensuring patients' profiles and CPOE are reviewed to prevent drug interactions and to promote rational drug use. Contact the physician for in-accuracy of order / non availability of medicine, providing the Clinical Pharmacist with relevant documentation.
• Ensure requisitions are issued and filled accurately, and prompt delivery of unit-dose medications to the Nursing unit is provided.
• Monitor and manage inventory stock levels, suggesting changes if necessary.
• Prepare and forward requisitions to Pharmacy store as required.
• Receive the goods from Pharmacy store, physically check and shelving the stock in proper location at specified temperature.
• Provide current and accurate drug information to all health care professionals when required. Maintain records of drug information provided according to the specified protocols for record keeping.
• Provide monthly reports to Assistant / Manager Pharmacy/ Clinical Pharmacist of all stock, detailing fast moving / slow moving / short expiry / expired / broken, damage items.
• Arrange inspection of nursing units and clinics each month and monitor the proper storage and distribution of patient floor stock, controlled drugs and emergency medications.
• Provide technical and administrative support, and conduct relevant trainings for staff.
• Ensure high alert medications are labeled, and ensure all related precautions and information are provided for proper administration.
• Prepare and present on various topics for CMEs.
• Document and provide management (Pharmacist / AM / Manager) with details of all interventions, drug information and related relevant information.
• Ensure temperatures are monitored and all related documentation is accurately maintained.
• Provide management with regular updates and monthly KPI reports.
• Perform all related tasks assigned by Manager / Assistant Manager Pharmacy Services.
