Job summary

Sadapay Private Limited is seeking a detail-oriented People Analytics and Payroll Specialist to manage payroll end-to-end for a distributed team. You will ensure accurate salary processing, tax compliance, and timely disbursements while coordinating with benefits vendors and the Finance team.

The role requires 1+ year payroll experience and strong Excel skills, with a proactive approach to process improvement in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, HR, or related field.
• 1+ year of payroll processing experience, preferably in remote-first or startup environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills: VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF statements, PivotTables.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
• Manage payroll records, deductions, taxes, benefits, bonuses, and commissions.
• Handle employee payroll queries with prompt assistance.
• Ensure compliance with tax filings, social security, and regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate with external vendors for benefits and retirement plans.

As a Sadanaut you will:

• Process payroll: Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance with local labor laws, and timely salary disbursements.
• Manage payroll records: Including deductions, tax withholdings, benefits, bonuses, and commissions, ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Handle employee queries: Related to payroll, benefits, tax calculations, pay slips, and other compensation matters, providing prompt and accurate support.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements: Including tax filings, social security contributions, and other regulatory obligations.
• Conduct payroll audits: To verify accuracy and compliance, addressing discrepancies proactively.
• Support year-end activities: Such as tax filings, salary revisions, and employee bonuses, in collaboration with the Finance team.
• Coordinate with external vendors: To manage employee benefits, retirement plans, and insurance, ensuring smooth administration of all benefits.
• Assist in developing and implementing payroll policies: To enhance efficiency and streamline processes.

What it takes to become a Sadanaut:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field.
• 1+ year of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a fast-paced, remote-first, or startup environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF statements), PivotTables, data reconciliation, and reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.
• Strong communication skills to handle payroll inquiries and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
