Job summary

Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre invites applications for a Speech & Language Pathologist / Speech Therapist. The role focuses on evaluating and treating communication and swallowing difficulties in children.

The candidate will conduct assessments, develop therapy plans, and deliver individual and group sessions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. A degree in SLP and relevant clinical training are required, with 1–3 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Speech-Language Pathology from an HE C-recognized university.
• Registration/certification will be preferred.
• Training in pediatric speech and language therapy will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, communication, and swallowing-related difficulties where applicable.
• Develop individualized speech and language therapy plans according to each child’s needs.
• Provide one-to-one and group therapy sessions.
• Work with children having speech delay, language disorders, articulation difficulties, fluency disorders, and communication challenges.
• Use appropriate therapeutic techniques and activities to improve communication skills.
• Monitor and evaluate clients’ progress and modify therapy plans accordingly.
• Maintain accurate patient files, assessment reports, therapy notes, and progress records.
• Provide guidance and home-based therapy activities to parents/caregivers.
• Coordinate with Special Educators, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in case discussions, meetings, assessments, and awareness activities.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards while providing child-centered care.
