The People & Culture Business Partner (RSS India) has the mindset of a business leader and entrepreneur. This position partners flexibly with multiple leadership areas in a part of the business as part of a network. This position collaborates closely with Business Unit (BU) Business Partners of this part of the business & relevant Business Leaders to understand long-term business needs and strategic P&C priorities. This position then translates business strategy into P&C strategies for their leadership areas and drives fit for purpose implementation.

The position has specific responsibilities for external system shaping, reputation management, employer’s representation, employer’s branding, and collaboration with work councils as needed as well as internal cultural stewardship tasks. This responsibility is estimated to cover approximately 10%-30% of the time.

Your Opportunity
Business Acumen
  • Align P&C strategies with overall business objectives
  • Develop strategies for talent management, workforce planning, organization design, and recognition
  • Utilize broad organizational knowledge and insights to diagnose complex issues effectively
  • Recommend process improvements to maximize human capital leverage and ensure P&C initiatives contribute to organizational value
  • Stay abreast of external trends and peer benchmarks to inform strategic decision-making
  • Understand the talent landscape especially in lifesciences space and effectively communicate it to the global partners within Roche
Leadership
  • Strategic partner and coach for fostering VACC leadership aligned with Roche's leadership framework
  • Translates business vision, mission, and 10-year ambitions into actionable projects with clear milestones and delivery schedules
  • Manages resources to meet objectives, develops action plans with measurable goals, and ensures alignment across RSS
  • Diagnoses P&C needs, addresses retention, change leadership, employee engagement, and leadership development
  • Drives change, influences business leaders and P&C professionals, mentors Strategic Business Partners, and promotes VACC leadership across P&C chapters
  • Build trusted relationships with Organization Enablement to ensure a collaborative approach to the RSS People Strategy
  • Build a sustainable P&C architecture (including holding chapter partners accountable) to support and drive people priorities in a global operating model
  • Represent Roche in any conferences and events related to P&C topics
Strategic P&C Insights & Innovation
  • Gathering and analyzes internal and external data, evidence-based research, benchmarks, P&C and business metrics to make critical decisions
  • Sharing insights with leaders and recommending innovative solutions based on the P&C decision principles that support the culture, strategic direction and resources
  • Diagnosing root causes of work environment issues, disruptive team dynamics and ineffective organizational setups
  • Initiating interventions and shaping solutions in collaboration and co-creation with key stakeholders across multiple leadership areas
Who you are
  • You hold a MBA in Human Resources and 10+ years of relevant working experience in the field of Human Resources/People & Culture/Organizational Development
  • Demonstrated passion and drive to shape People & Culture across large and diverse parts of our business areas and/or business areas in previous companies
  • Seasoned P&C professional with global experience
  • Experience working with global MNC is highly desirable
  • Candidate required to travel to Chennai site on a quarterly and need basis
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken) are essential
  • Ideally strong business partnering expertise and highly networked
  • Demonstrated leadership in shaping People & Culture, fostering diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety
  • Proven ability to coach senior leaders and, navigate in complex environments, lead large-scale global initiatives.
  • Trusted influencer with excellent communication skills and high resilience
  • Embracing diverse cultural backgrounds and emerging markets.
  • Strong ethical mindset and good understanding of relevant compliance principles and regulations
