Abacus in Lahore seeks a skilled Database Administrator to manage Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, focusing on replication, deployment, and cluster architecture. The role involves handling multi-terabyte datasets with secure backups and proactive lifecycle management.

You will oversee the full project lifecycle, optimize queries, and mentor engineers while ensuring high availability, performance, and adherence to SLAs in production support environments.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Oracle and PostgreSQL, replication, deployment, and cluster architecture.
• Experience with multi-terabyte datasets and secure backups/recovery.
• Knowledge of clustering and load balancing techniques.
• Strong SQL proficiency and ability to optimize complex queries.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Oracle and PostgreSQL databases with high availability and scalability.
• Configure deployment, clustering, replication, and load-balancing to boost performance.
• Write and optimize complex queries and stored procedures.
• Handle multi-terabyte datasets with data integrity and security.
• Ensure database security, backup, and recovery best practices.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues and oversee project lifecycle.
• Provide production support and coordinate with stakeholders to minimize downtime.
• Prepare functional and technical specification documents.
• Manage ticket queues, SLAs, KPIs, and OLAs.
• Mentor team members and facilitate effective communication with stakeholders.
