Job summary

WFP Pakistan seeks an on-site Civil Engineer to oversee construction at the Skardu HRF site, ensuring works follow approved designs, BOQs, and contract requirements while meeting safety, environmental, and schedule standards.

The engineer will supervise BNP facility upgrades, coordinate with stakeholders, monitor QA/QC, manage progress reporting, and ensure compliance with WFP standards in a challenging mountainous setting.

Experience in remote environments and UN project context is valued.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or first-level degree with 2 years of managerial experience.
• Experience in construction supervision, contract management, and infrastructure project implementation.
• Fluency in English and Urdu; knowledge of local languages is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as WFP's site representative for all construction activities at the HRF site.
• Supervise day-to-day site operations and monitor contractor performance.
• Ensure construction works follow drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract requirements.
• Monitor compliance with construction methodologies and schedules.
• Verify quantities and quality of works; inspect materials.
• Manage QA/QC procedures and documentation.
• Review contractor work programs and progress; manage payments.
• Plan, monitor, and report progress; prepare project reports.
• Ensure health, safety, environment, and security (HSES) compliance.
