Job summary

Indus Hospital is seeking a housekeeping supervisor to oversee daily cleaning across patient areas, hallways, and facilities. The role includes ensuring hygiene standards, implementing improvements, and maintaining records of activities and supplies.

You will train new staff, enforce PPE usage and infection control protocols, manage waste and inventory, and develop rosters to ensure smooth operations in all areas.

• Ensure compliance with PHC/JCI standards and hospital policies.

Job description

• Oversee the daily cleaning of all areas of the hospital, including patient areas, hallways, waiting areas, restrooms, and offices.
• Conducting regular inspections of cleaned areas to ensure they meet hygiene and cleanliness standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Participating in the training of new housekeeping staff, providing guidance and feedback on cleaning procedures and standards.
• Implement and enforce infection control practices to prevent the spread of infections, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to IHHN infection control protocols and precautions.
• Manage the disposal of medical and general waste according to established guidelines and regulations.
• Monitor and manage housekeeping supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and efficient use of resources.
• Ensure availability of cleaning supplies, disinfectants, PPE, and other materials.
• Maintaining a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with patients, visitors, and other hospital staff, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, departmental documentation, supply usage, and any incidents or issues.
• Develop and maintain monthly schedules and roster; ensure smooth execution with timely and proper rotation of porter and cleaners in all the areas.
• Develop cleaning schedules and protocols for all hospital areas.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, government regulations, and PHC/ JCI standards.
• Respond to housekeeping-related complaints or issues promptly.
• Perform any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor that commensurate with your knowledge and skills.
