Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnosis and therapy, under physician supervision.
• Explains test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provides assistance during tests.
• Disposes of radioactive materials and stores radiopharmaceuticals following safety protocols.
• Maintains infection control protocols to reduce hospital-acquired infections.
• Monitors medications and consumables usage and ensures accurate billing as per policy.
• Maintains and updates patient documentation per hospital policy.
• Ensures a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.
• Communicates findings and recommendations to healthcare teams in a timely manner.
• Attends training sessions for personal and professional growth.
• Monitors departmental equipment and reports any malfunctions to management.
• Provides recommendations to management for service improvements.

JOB SUMMARY:

Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares, administers, and measures radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating a variety of clinical conditions in patients.

• Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients for diagnosis and therapy, using radioisotope equipment, under direction of a physician
• Explains test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide then with assistance during test procedures

• Disposes of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals, following radiation safety procedures
• Follows infection control protocols at all times to reduce risk of hospital-acquired infections
• Monitors utilization of medications and consumable items and ensures accurate billing, as per hospital policy
• Maintains and updates all relevant patient documentations/ medical records as per hospital's policy and procedures
• Ensures safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Provides continuity among healthcare teams by timely documenting and communicating findings and recommendations
• Attends training sessions for personal and professional growth, when instructed by management
• Monitors departmental equipment for timely maintenance and reports any errors to senior management
