Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by PMDC.
• FCPS/MD or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Neurology recognized by PMDC, as applicable to the position.
• Valid PMDC registration with the relevant specialist qualification registered where required.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Patient Care: Specialist neurological assessment, diagnosis, and follow-up for patients in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, and other areas.
• Neurological Emergency Management: Assess and manage emergencies including stroke, seizures, status epilepticus, altered consciousness, meningitis, and more.
• Diagnostic Evaluation: Perform and interpret neurological examinations and investigations (EEG, nerve studies, neuroimaging, etc.).
• Inpatient & Outpatient Services: Conduct ward rounds, manage admissions, and ensure continuity of care with other teams.
• Teaching & Academic Activities: Deliver lectures and tutorials for undergrad and postgrad trainees per curriculum.
• Postgraduate Training & Supervision: Supervise and assess residents and trainees per policies and training requirements.
• Research & Publications: Engage in clinical research, publish findings, present at conferences, promote evidence-based practice.
• Multidisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate with Internal Medicine, Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, Psychiatry, Rehab, ICU.
• Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and documentation per policies.
• Patient Safety & Governance: Adhere to safety, infection control, medication safety, and regulatory guidelines; participate in audits.
• Departmental Administration: Attend meetings, plan services, duties rosters, committees, and improvement initiatives.
• Performance Monitoring & Development: Track performance indicators and pursue CPD; stay updated with neurology advances.
