Job summary

The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) invites applications for a Research Assistant in the Functional Nanomaterials Laboratory. The role focuses on conducting experiments to synthesize and characterize functional nanomaterials for renewable energy, energy storage, electrochemical sensing and related nanoscience research.

You will operate lab equipment, analyze data, prepare technical reports, and contribute to manuscripts and grant proposals while training undergraduate students

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, nanoscience & nanotechnology or related disciplines; 01 year experience in nanomaterials for electrocatalysis or energy conversion and storage or electrochemical sensing and biosensing or water treatment.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory experiments related to synthesis and characterization of functional nanomaterials and their testing for energy, environmental, and biomedical technologies.
• Operate and maintain laboratory apparatus, including photo- and electro-chemical workstations.
• Conduct experimental data analysis using appropriate software and prepare technical reports and research documentation.
• Maintain laboratory records, inventories, chemicals, consumables, and experimental databases.
• Prepare research manuscripts and contribute to grant proposals and other project deliverables.
• Support training and supervision of undergraduate students, interns, and visiting researchers.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality assurance, and institutional policies.
• Perform other research-related duties as assigned.
