Job summary

Relief International is seeking a Legal Migration Counsellor and Safeguarding Officer to support documentation, rights and lawful migration options within RI’s scope in Pakistan. The role also leads safeguarding coordination, training and referrals to protect vulnerable populations.

Reporting to the Country Director, the incumbent provides confidential information sessions, registers safeguarding concerns, and ensures compliance with RI policies.

Qualifications

• Clear ability to communicate complex legal information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to assess protection risks and provide appropriate referrals.
• Experience delivering safeguarding awareness and handling sensitive disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Provide confidential legal information sessions and individual counselling on documentation and lawful migration options.
• Coordinate safeguarding communications, training and referrals within RI policies.
• Maintain vetted referrals for legal aid, assess risk before arranging follow-ups and obtain informed consent.
• Act as Provincial Safeguarding Focal, report to Country Director on safeguarding matters and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Deliver safeguarding induction and training to staff and volunteers; uphold confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Ensure reporting channels are accessible and protect participant rights, with survivor-centered responses when needed.
