Job summary

hrsi seeks an experienced middle management lawyer to join its Karachi team. You will provide legal support across commercial, labour, and regulatory matters, draft contracts, handle disputes, and ensure governance compliance for a multinational-leaning business.

The role requires strong drafting abilities, an independent work style, and excellent analytical and presentation skills with 6–8 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Law degree from a recognized university; professional admission preferred.
• 6–8 years overall experience in a large organization, with senior-level exposure.
• Strong drafting, interpretation and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to handle disputes, negotiate, and advise on commercial and civil matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support on matters across management and functions.
• Handle land, lease, registrations, tenancy/license agreements.
• Draft and negotiate contracts such as sale/purchase, NDAs, SLAs, bank guarantees.
• Manage corporate governance and regulatory compliance, liaise with authorities.
• Monitor litigation, draft pleadings, and coordinate with external lawyers.

Job description

Company Overview:

Our Client, a Karachi based company, seeks to appoint an experienced and seasoned professional for the following role:

MIDDLE MANAGEMENT POSITION - LEGAL

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal support on matters as required by the management and various functions of the Company, including:
  • Land matters, lease issues and registration, tenancy/license agreements;
  • Corporate governance issues and corporate compliance matters. Representations before regulatory authorities and various other forums;
  • Contract drafting and negotiations such as sale and purchase agreements, NDAs, SLAs, bank guarantees, etc.;
  • Disputes (mediation, arbitration and litigation);
  • Provide legal advice, propose solutions on a wide variety of matters (commercial and civil law, labour law, PPRA, company laws, intellectual property laws etc.);
  • Serve as a liaison with business units, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations relevant to the industry;
• Handle/monitor corporate litigation, review pleadings before filing in the courts, maintain proper record/status of court cases and follow up with external lawyers in addition to negotiating professional fee with them;
• Review and draft all relevant contracts, agreements, letters, proposals etc. to ensure compliance with the prevailing laws and highlight issues that may have legal and statutory implications for the Company;
• Responsible for structuring, drafting and reviewing reports and other legal documents;

Education

• The candidate must have a Law Degree from HEC recognized Law School/University. Solicitor, Bar-at-law, L.L.M. would be an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 6 - 8 years of overall experience, preferably in a large national/multinational organization with at least 2 - 6 years of related functional experience in a similar role at a senior equivalent position or one position below.

• Ability to work independently having excellent interpretation and drafting skills
• Excellent presentation, problem solving, decision making and analytical skills

Age

• The candidate should preferably be not more than 40 years of age as of the last date of submission of application.
