Job summary

Idenfo is seeking a Mid-Senior Software Developer to join our Product Engineering team in Karachi. You will work across the stack to deliver scalable, user-focused solutions using Node.js, TypeScript, Vue.js, and React.

You will design data models in MongoDB and PostgreSQL, implement Elasticsearch search capabilities, and build event-driven systems with Kafka, while contributing to CI/CD and mentoring junior developers.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, RESTful API development.
• Experience with Vue.js or React and modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL; performance tuning and migrations.
• Elasticsearch experience for search and analytics.
• Familiarity with Kafka or similar event streams.
• Docker and containerized deployment experience.
• Understanding of CI/CD, version control, testing.
• Strong communication and ability to work in distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Develop and enhance frontend applications using Vue.js and React, with a strong focus on user experience and performance.
• Design and manage data models across MongoDB and PostgreSQL environments.
• Implement and optimize Elasticsearch solutions for search, filtering, and analytics capabilities.
• Build event-driven systems and asynchronous workflows using Kafka.
• Develop containerized applications and contribute to CI/CD and deployment processes.
• Participate actively in code reviews, sprint planning, technical discussions, and architecture decisions.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Mentor junior developers through knowledge sharing, code reviews, and technical guidance.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to engineering best practices.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

• 4–7 years of hands-on software development experience in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, including RESTful API development and asynchronous programming.
• Practical experience with at least one modern frontend framework, preferably Vue.js (React experience is an advantage).
• Strong understanding of relational and document-based databases, including query optimization and database migrations.
• Experience working with Elasticsearch for search, filtering, and aggregation use cases.
• Familiarity with Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies.
• Experience with Docker and containerized application deployment.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle, version control, testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within distributed teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes or cloud-native deployments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience working in regulated, compliance-driven, or high-throughput environments such as FinTech, RegTech, Identity Verification, or Cybersecurity.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a publicly available technical portfolio.
