Abbott in Karachi, Pakistan seeks a Medical and Scientific Liaison to support Biosimilars and Oncology, ensuring activities align with guidelines and maintain credible relationships with key opinion leaders and academic centers.

You will support clinical studies, educate physicians, deliver scientific presentations, and assist collaborations while upholding scientific integrity and compliance. 20% travel may be involved.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine/ Dentistry preferred or degree in pharmaceutical sciences/ science background considered.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in pharmaceuticals.
• Proficiency in English language.
• Management, Communication and Compliance and Process Improvement skills.
• Solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment and stakeholder relationships.
• Keen interest in developing expert knowledge for assigned therapeutic areas and medical research.

Responsabilidades

• Support in assigned clinical studies and medical projects in line with local laws, guidelines, codes of practice and SOPs.
• Maintain contacts with physicians and key opinion leaders to educate them and provide scientific/technical support for publications.
• Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to physicians in meetings and clinical sessions.
• Participate in selecting physicians for collaborations and lecture/meeting support with integrity.
• Attend scientific meetings to develop market awareness and communicate appropriately.
• Provide support for access to Company products on a named patient or compassionate use basis, per regulatory requirements.
• Support pharmacovigilance processes and trainings as required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for the medical and scientific support of the Biosimilars and Oncology portfolio, including key EPD brands. The role will ensure that all scientific activities and stakeholder interactions are conducted in accordance with corporate guidelines and accepted standards of best practice.

The incumbent will provide scientific and technical support to maintain professional and credible relationships with key opinion leaders and academic centers, ensuring access to current medical and scientific information related to the products and therapeutic areas of interest.

Major Responsibilities:

• Support in assigned clinical studies and medical projects for the assigned areas in line with the applicable local laws, guidelines, codes of practice and applicable SOPs
• Maintain contacts with physicians and Key Opinion Leaders of the assigned geographic area in order to educate them for scientific knowledge. Provide them with scientific and technical support for publications of scientific or medical interest
• Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to physicians, individually or in groups (meetings, clinical sessions, etc.), where requested
• Participate in the selection process to identify appropriately qualified physicians the Company would wish to engage in collaborative efforts – such as potential research collaborations, or lecture/meeting support for Round Tables, Congresses, Symposia, etc. ensuring a high level of scientific or educational integrity in these collaborative efforts
• Attend relevant Scientific meetings and Conferences/Congresses and develop market awareness to communicate appropriately
• Provide support for access to Company products on a named patient or compassionate use basis, subject to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure following-up on ICMS with the reporter, generate follow up (FU) queries and send FU requests
• Support sales/marketing/internal team areas to develop their scientific and technical expertise through the delivery of scientific update presentations. To assist with pharmacovigilance processes and trainings, as required

Education/Knowledge & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine/ Dentistry will be preferred. Degree in pharmaceutical sciences/ Science Background can also be considered based on the credentials of the candidate.
• Minimum 2 years of similar experience in pharmaceuticals.
• Proficiency in English language.
• Management, Communication and Compliance and Process Improvement Skills.
• Solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment and excellent skills to set stake-holders relationship.
• Keen interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge for assigned therapeutic area/product and in medical research in general.
• Knowledge of the scientific methods applied to clinical research and the current legislative/regulatory controls.
• Strong commitment to compliance with the relevant rules and procedures, and to scientific quality and integrity
