Job description
  • Demonstrates leadership and management skills to direct and guide others appropriately.
  • Fosters and promotes a cohesive work environment among radiology staff.
  • Evaluates staff, provides coaching, monitors performance, directs orientation, and constructively influences staff morale.
  • Oversees and assigns staff workload requirements for daily operations at multiple locations.
  • Controls inventory, care for and purchase of supplies for respective areas of responsibility.
  • Monitors the status of equipment repairs and preventative maintenance, gathers data on equipment malfunction and associated downtime, and documents its effects on patient care.
  • Maintains the ability to perform radiologic procedures to include assessment of patient needs.
  • Addresses and responds to concerns or grievances by physicians, staff and patients.
  • Assists in the development, interpretation, and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism and competence in dealing with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, administration and financial staff.
  • Serves as resource person and role model staff
  • Assures staff is trained and competent and documents the effects on patient care.
  • Continuously monitors staffing levels and adjusts as appropriate to meet various clinical care and financial objectives.
  • Identifies appropriate internal controls for department, and provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
  • Leads continuous quality improvement programs
  • Works with projects to a timely resolution and completes assignments according to agreed deadlines.
  • Monitors revenue and expense budgets on an on-going basis and takes appropriate action to ensure practice is within budget guidelines
  • Ensures appropriate information is gathered and transmitted in support of billing functions.
  • Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces the safety measures in Environment of Care.
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
