Job summary

Bureau Veritas Lahore office is seeking a Lifting Equipment Inspector to conduct inspections and certify lifting equipment, accessories, and appliances in accordance with applicable standards. You will perform visual inspections, dimensional checks, load test witnessing, and coordinate NDT where required.

You will ensure compliance with API, ASME, LEEA, LOLER, and client-specific requirements, and prepare accurate inspection reports while maintaining proper records.

Qualifications

• LEEA certification at least Level 2 is required.
• Engineering or DAE qualification.
• Formal HSE training is required.
• Knowledge of local and international LEEA standards and regulations is required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection and certification of lifting equipment, lifting accessories, and lifting appliances per standards and procedures.
• Conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, load test witnessing, and NDT coordination as needed.
• Ensure inspections comply with API, ASME, LEEA, LOLER and client requirements.

1. Position Details

1.1. Position: Lifting Equipment Inspector

1.2. Office / Department: Lahore office/ IVS Department

1.3. Reporting to: Omer Ishaq

1.4. Key Working Relationship: Operations Manager, Technical Manager, Lifting Equipment Inspection Team, Clients and Client Representatives, Sales Team, HSE Department, Quality Department, and relevant subcontractors’/service providers.

2. Minimum Required Qualifications

2.1. Specialty LEEA certified (minimum 02 Levels)

2.2. Education Engineer/ DAE

2.3. Training HSE training

2.4. Technical knowledge Must be aware of local and international LEEA standards and regulations

3.1. Primary Functions To carry out lifting equipment inspection

3.2. Technical Expertise

• Perform inspection and certification of lifting equipment, lifting accessories, and lifting appliances in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
• Conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, load test witnessing, and NDT coordination where required.
• Ensure inspection activities comply with API, ASME, LEEA, LOLER, and client-specific requirements.
• Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain proper inspection records.

3.6. HSE Requirements

• Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV HSE Policies, procedures and practices.
• Maintain personal work areas tidy and hazard free and report any deviation/fault/hazard immediately to the location manager/line manager/HSE Representative
• Report immediately to HSE Representative any newly identified hazard and participate in devising suitable operational control to eliminate/minimize the pertinent risk.
• Report immediately to HSE Representative any HSE incident and cooperate in investigation
• Reporting all incidents and taking action whenever they see an unsafe act or condition
• Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do).
• Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.

• Maintain and enhance technical competency in accordance with LEEA, API, and company requirements.
• Stay updated with applicable industry standards, inspection techniques, and client requirements.

• Pursue continuous improvement in safety, quality, and operational performance.

• Completion of assigned lifting equipment inspections within agreed timelines.
• Reduction of inspection backlog and pending jobs.
• Timely submission of inspection reports and certificates.
• Compliance with HSE, quality, and company procedures.
• Achievement of inspection utilization and billable hours targets.
• Zero major customer complaints related to inspection quality or reporting.
• Effective support in meeting regional revenue and operational targets.
• Successful completion of mandatory training and competency assessments.
