Job summary

INTECH Automation Intelligence in Pakistan invites a Lead Process Engineer to drive front-end and detailed design for Oil & Gas projects, brownfield and greenfield, with emphasis on process safety and reliability. You will develop PFDs, P&IDs, basis of design, process datasheets, and perform hydraulic calculations while coordinating with vendors and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 6–8 years of design experience in Oil & Gas, brownfield and greenfield.
• Design of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and process skids.
• Experience with valve sizing, hydraulic calculations, and PRV/PSV.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid flow and heat transfer.
• Tendering, bidding and proposal experience is a plus.
• Vendor management and inter-discipline coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Support HAZOP/HAZID/PHAs and risk studies; ensure HSE standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and customers; manage bids and procurement.

INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking Lead Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in advancing Process Automation Solutions across industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Utilities, and Renewable Energy. At INTECH, you will contribute to groundbreaking projects, leveraging expertise in Integrated Control Systems, SCADA Virtualization, Wellhead Automation, and Telecommunication to drive operational excellence and innovation.

What You’ll Lead and Deliver

• Lead the design process for projects involving Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Storage Tanks, Separators, Process Skids, and Chemical Injection Skids.
• Work on Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Design for both brownfield and greenfield projects.
• Develop essential documents such as the Basis of Design, Process Design Criteria, and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Prepare process datasheets for instruments, including flow instruments, control valves, and relief valves.
• Conduct hydraulic calculations for pumps and compressors, as well as line sizing and blowdown calculations.
• Perform studies on hydrate formation, sizing of control valves, and PRV/PSV.
• Participate in and execute recommendations from HAZOP, HAZID, PHA, SIL, and Risk Management studies.
• Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships, ensuring effective inter-discipline coordination and customer conflict resolution.
• Conduct technical bid evaluations, cost control, procurement management, and project management.
• Prepare technical reports, carry out design reviews, and engage in dispersion analysis, surge analysis, and dynamic simulations.
• Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and hazard classifications.
• Support proposal and tender preparation, working closely with the business development team for project bidding.
• Travel to customer sites within Pakistan and internationally as needed.

Requirements

To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:

• Masters or Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 6 - 8 years of design experience in the Oil & Gas sector, with a focus on brownfield and greenfield projects.
• Proficient in the design of process equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and process skids.
• Familiar with control valves, PRV/PSV sizing, and hydraulic pump and compressor calculations.
• Expertise in thermodynamics, fluid flow, and heat transfer concepts.
• Experience with tendering, bidding, and proposal preparation is a plus.
• Strong vendor management, inter-discipline coordination, and customer conflict resolution skills
• Experience in using the following modelling & simulation tools is highly desired: ASPEN HYSYS, ASPEN EDR (Shell & Tube / Air cooler), and ASPEN PLUS FLARENET, FLARESIM, PIPESIM, PIPENET
• Candidate should be motivated individual to learn new software applications and technologies for growth in multi skillset capacity.
