Qualifications

• B.Sc. (Hons.) in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of post-degree experience in a reputable diagnostic laboratory, preferably in Cytogenetics, karyotyping, and FISH.
• Experience in CAP or internationally accredited labs is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform cytogenetic investigations, including chromosome analysis and karyotyping.
• Perform and interpret FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization) tests according to established protocols.
• Prepare, culture, harvest, and process specimens for cytogenetic analysis.
• Analyze chromosome preparations and identify numerical and structural chromosomal abnormalities.
• Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and maintenance of laboratory records.
• Perform quality control procedures and comply with laboratory safety and quality standards.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, and consumables as per established procedures.
• Follow applicable JCI, CAP, ISO, and institutional laboratory standards.
• Coordinate with pathologists and other laboratory staff for timely and accurate processing of cases.
• Participate in internal quality assurance, proficiency testing, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements
