Job summary

Ziauddin University invites applications for a Laboratory Technician role to support medical laboratory teaching and research activities.

You will prepare and organize lab materials, assist faculty and students during demonstrations and practical sessions, maintain cleanliness and safety, keep accurate inventory records, calibrate equipment, and help with audits and training events as required.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.Sc./BS in Medical Laboratory Technology, Laboratory Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, and set up laboratory materials, reagents, equipment, and other required supplies for scheduled practical classes and research sessions.
• Assist faculty members and students during laboratory demonstrations, experiments, practical sessions, and assessments.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, orderliness, and compliance with institutional safety and hygiene standards.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory inventory, equipment, and consumables, and report shortages, damages, or maintenance requirements to the Lab In-Charge.
• Assist with the calibration, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of biological and chemical materials in accordance with institutional safety and biosafety protocols.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory documentation and records required for audits, inspections, and accreditation purposes.
• Support faculty and laboratory staff during departmental events, workshops, demonstrations, and training sessions.
• Provide assistance in other laboratories when required to ensure the smooth and continuous conduct of academic and practical sessions.
• Perform any other laboratory-related duties assigned by the Lab In-Charge or Head of Department.
