Job summary

A tech company located in Karachi is seeking an experienced IT Service Desk Officer to manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure. The role involves providing technical support, managing user devices, and ensuring robust network connectivity. The ideal candidate should have 1 to 2 years of IT support experience and knowledge of network security and hardware. The position requires flexibly working in rotational shifts, supporting a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in IT Support.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, network protocols, and hardware.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain end-user devices and IT infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and resolve user issues.
  • Stay current with IT infrastructure developments and recommend upgrades.
  • Administer Active Directory Users and Group Policy Objects.
  • Log support requests and maintain documentation.

Horizon Technologies is seeking a skilled and experienced IT Service Desk Officer to join our team. The IT Support Executive will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organisation's end-user devices, servers, network, and other IT infrastructure. This includes providing technical support to users, troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, managing and maintaining the office network, staying up-to-date with the latest IT infrastructure and security developments, andrecommending upgrades and improvements as necessary.

Must Haves:

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in IT Support, with a focus on managing complex IT environments.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and systems, including network protocols, hardware, and storage.
  • Knowledge of network security concepts such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection and
    prevention.
  • Experience with network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of administering Linux operating systems will be a plus.
  • Must be flexible to work in rotation shifts and a 24/7 operation

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the organisation's end-user devices, servers, network, and other IT infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support to users, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Manage and maintain the office network and communicate with internet providers when needed to ensure stable and robust internet connections.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest IT infrastructure and security developments, and recommend upgrades and improvements as necessary.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory Users and Group Policy Objects.
  • Create and maintain documentation and asset databases.
  • Log all support and service requests and update tickets as needed.
  • Perform disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Asterisk and IP Telephony systems.
  • Create and manage file and folder sharing and permissions.
