iSystems Ltd. is seeking a Senior Java Technical Lead to steer Java development teams and define scalable microservices architectures for a fintech platform.

You will shape technical strategy, review designs, and ensure secure, high-performance delivery across payments and banking domains. Qualifications

• 8–12 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years in a lead role.
• Strong Java experience (Java 11+) and Spring Boot are mandatory.
• Proven delivery of microservices architectures in production.
• At least 3 years in fintech, banking, or payments.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of Java microservices for fintech products.
• Define architecture, coding standards, and best practices.
• Run design and code reviews.
• Break down business requirements with the Product Owner and mentor engineers.
• Design and review REST and SOAP APIs, and ensure security/compliance (PCI DSS, PSD2, KYC/AML, GDPR).
• Improve performance, resilience, and observability across services.
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD, containerization, and releases.
• Participate in sprint planning and delivery tracking in Scrum.
• Lead incident response and root-cause analyses for production issues.
• Assess technical risks and debt and raise them early with stakeholders.

We are looking for a Senior Java Technical Lead for a leading fintech platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading Java development teams, driving technical architecture and design, and ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performance microservices-based applications. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Java development, system architecture, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Java microservices for payments, banking, lending, or digital wallet products.
• Define architecture, coding standards, and best practices.
• Run design and code reviews.
• Break down business requirements with the Product Owner and turn them into technical solutions. Mentor engineers and raise the quality of the team’s output.
• Design and review REST and SOAP APIs, event-driven integrations, and third-party connections. Make sure systems meet fintech security and compliance needs such as PCI DSS, PSD2, KYC/AML, and GDPR.
• Improve performance, resilience, and observability across services.
• Work with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and releases.
• Take part in sprint planning, estimation, and delivery tracking in Scrum.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis for production issues.
• Assess technical risks and debt, and raise them early with stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8 to 12 years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a lead role.
• Strong Java experience (Java 11 or higher) and Spring Boot. This is mandatory.
• Proven delivery of microservices architectures in production. This is mandatory.
• At least 3 years in fintech, banking, or payments.
• Solid knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, and OpenAPI.
• Experience with messaging and streaming tools such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL) and at least one NoSQL store. Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Understanding of design patterns, domain-driven design, API security (OAuth2, JWT), and distributed system patterns such as saga, circuit breaker, and idempotency.
• Experience with Git, Jira, and Agile or Scrum delivery. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
