Job summary

Abacus is seeking a junior Java Developer in Lahore with 0-1 year of experience. You will build scalable backend systems, design microservices, and work with RESTful APIs and real-time messaging via Kafka. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices is expected.

Applicants should hold a BSCS or related degree, know Java SE/EE and relevant frameworks, and collaborate well within Agile teams to deliver fintech-grade software.

Qualifications

• BSCS or related field.
• 0-1 year hands-on Java development.
• Strong knowledge of Java SE/EE and frameworks.
• Basic understanding of Kafka and microservices.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend systems using Java.
• Design and implement microservices architecture.
• Integrate real-time messaging with Apache Kafka.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with database teams for optimized queries.
• Work with Spring Boot, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Follow CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins.
• Participate in testing, debugging, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Exposure to Fintech domain is preferred.
