Job summary

Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy seeks an IT Developer/Data Analyst to work on PUAN Alumni Network projects. The role involves developing PUAN alumni database and web applications using CFML/ColdFusion and MS SQL Server, with Agile practices.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure secure, scalable solutions, and contribute across the SDLC. Minimum 3 years in IT, a CS/SE degree, and strong English communication are required.

Qualifications

Organizational Context

The Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) is a community of alumni from U.S. exchange programs dedicated to making a positive impact in Pakistan and around the world. Members of the network engage in community service, provide mentorship, and inspire future exchange participants. This network is jointly administered by the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad and the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP).

Job Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for the development and modification of PUAN Alumni Database and Web Applications.

Key Responsibilities

IT Developer is required to work with CFML/ColdFusion development platform and Microsoft SQL Server Databases, as well as development involving compatibility and integration with various web technologies.

Responsible for the development of Web applications. The developer should have the ability to create web applications working through the software development lifecycle. Best practices and frameworks should be used to ensure success of the projects.

• Build secure, high-performance web applications using established software development practices, including SDLC, Agile methodologies, prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement.


• Design and implement responsive, user-friendly UI/UX interfaces.


• Build, optimize, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, queries, and stored procedures.


• Write clean, maintainable code following industry best practices and security standards.


• Demonstrate strong creative, technical, and analytical skills to effectively address challenges and develop practical solutions.


• Collaborate with cross-functional team members and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.


• Work productively within an agile, collaborative development team.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of web application design and development experience


• Extensive web programming knowledge (such as ColdFusion, PHP, Java, .net, or similar technologies)


• Proficiency in Figma and core UI/UX design principles for web applications.


• Candidates with practical knowledge of Adobe ColdFusion development will be preferred


• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Education:

Bachelor’s in computer science \\ software engineering or related field from a HEC recognized university. Master degree in relevant field is preferred.
