Job summary

Fulcrum Pvt. Limited is seeking a Head of Finance to provide strategic financial leadership, governance, and oversight of budgeting, reporting, treasury, compliance, audit, and risk management across the organization.

You will establish robust internal controls, manage cash flow, lead annual planning, monitor variances, and partner with senior leadership to drive informed decision making and resource allocation. Strong leadership and integrity are essential.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent
• 8–10+ years of progressive experience in Finance or related field
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis
• Experience in governance, internal controls, audit, compliance, treasury and risk management

Job description

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

The Head of Finance is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring sound financial governance, maintaining effective internal controls, and overseeing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, treasury, compliance, audit, and risk management. The position supports informed decision making through accurate financial information, effective resource management, and strategic financial advice to senior leadership.

1. Financial Governance & Controls

Establish and maintain effective financial governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Ensure financial processes comply with organizational policies, applicable regulations, and established standards.

Monitor financial controls and recommend improvements to strengthen accountability and safeguard organizational resources.

2. Treasury & Cash Management

Oversee treasury operations, cash flow planning, liquidity management, and working capital. Monitor cash positions and ensure funds are managed effectively to meet operational and financial obligations.

Identify potential cash flow risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.

3. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Reporting

Lead the annual budgeting process and financial planning activities.

Oversee budget preparation, consolidation, monitoring, and variance analysis.

Ensure timely preparation and submission of accurate financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis.

Provide financial insights to support strategic planning and organizational decision-making.

Ensure compliance with applicable financial, statutory, regulatory, and organizational requirements. Identify, assess, and monitor financial and operational risks within the finance function.

Develop and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures and strengthen assurance mechanisms.

Maintain appropriate documentation and records to support compliance and accountability.

5. Audit & Governance

Oversee internal and external audit processes and coordinate the timely provision of required documentation.

Monitor audit observations and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.

Support governance processes through reliable financial information, documentation, and reporting.

Promote transparency, accountability, and adherence to established financial controls.

6. Financial Systems & Process Improvement

Oversee financial systems and processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.

Identify opportunities to improve financial workflows, reporting processes, and internal controls. Support the effective use of ERP and other financial systems.

Promote standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across finance operations.

Foster collaboration with internal stakeholders and promote a culture of integrity, accuracy, and accountability.

Provide financial advice and analysis to the Country Director and other relevant stakeholders. Assess financial performance, resource utilization, and emerging financial risks.

Support strategic decisions through financial modelling, scenario analysis, and evaluation of financial implications, as required.

Ensure financial considerations are incorporated into organizational planning and operational decisions.

8. Team Leadership & Capacity Building

Lead, supervise, and develop the finance team to ensure effective delivery of financial operations. Establish clear responsibilities, performance expectations, and accountability within the team. Identify training and development needs and support continuous professional development.

Job Specification

Education:

Professional qualification in CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or an equivalent recognized qualification\

Experience:

8 to 10+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis. Expertise in financial governance, internal controls, audit, compliance, treasury, cash flow management, and risk management.

Experience working in complex organizational environments, with experience in grant-funded organizations or programmes considered an advantage.

Proficiency in ERP systems, financial systems management, and process improvement.

Strong leadership, people management, team development, and performance management skills. Effective stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making capabilities.

Ability to provide financial insights and strategic advice to support organizational planning and resource allocation.

Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and financial reporting skills.
